Police charge driver in September 2018 collision that killed a cyclist

A 41-year-old Brandon man has been charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death stemming from a 2018 fatal collision.

On September 4, 2018 a 61-year-old male cyclist suffered critical injuries after he was struck by a semi-truck at the intersection of Lagimodiere Boulevard and Bishop Grandin Boulevard.

The cyclist was rushed to hospital but died soon afterwards.

The driver of the semi was not injured.

Police have not released the name of the truck driver but have said he was released on a promise to appear in court.
