Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to an outside fire around 11:45 pm on April 2, 2023, on Main Street at John Black Avenue.
When crews arrived they found a hydro pole on fire and downed powerlines.
Emergency crews shut down Main Street in both directions until Manitoba Hydro crews could remove the powerlines. Winnipeg Police took to social media just after midnight advising motorists to avoid the area.
Main Street was reopened shortly before 2:00 am.
