Winnipeg Police called in the dogs when a car thief ran from a stolen vehicle after being spotted by police.
It happened just after 6:00 pm on Monday, November 20, 2017, officers were conducting a patrol in the 400 block of Pacific Avenue when they saw the stolen car. As they attempted to stop the vehicle the driver bailed out and took off on foot.

The members of the K-9 unit were able to track the suspect to a home in the 400 block of Alexander Avenue. They found the thief hiding under garbage under a porch.
Thomas Jeremy Spence, 30 from Winnipeg is facing a charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000 for his alleged involvement. Spence was also wanted on two other outstanding warrants.
He remains in custody.
