Deputy Chief to Retire

Deputy Chief of the Winnipeg Police Service has announced his retirement.

Thorne joined the service in 1981 and has worked his way through the ranks. he was promoted to inspector in 2004, Superintendent in 2009 and Deputy Chief in 2013.

Thorne is the second executive officer to announce retirement this year. Chief Devon Clunis announced his retirement in March.
