RCMP officers from St. Pierre-Jolys responded to a fatal snowmobile collision in the RM of Tache.

According to police a 21-year-old male had been at a home in Ile Des Chenes on December 19. He left the residence and rode his snowmobile toward home in the RM of Tache around 10:30 pm. When he did not return, family members went to look for him. He was located on December 20 in the west ditch on Provincial Road 207, near the intersection of Prairie Grove Road in the RM of Tache. He was pronounced dead at the  scene.

Police say the victim was wearing a helmet but that it was extremely cold and visibility was low due to heavy blowing snow on the evening of December 19.

Police say Weather conditions and speed may be contributing factors in the collision.

The investigation continues into the cause of the collision.
