De La Digue Avenue fire appears to be accidental

Firefighters responded to an alarm in a two-storey combined residential and educational facility just before 9:00 am on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.

As emergency crews arrived on the scene they found heavy smoke coming from the building. An offensive attack was launched.

Everyone who was inside the building at the time of the fire was able to get out safely before firefighters arrived.

No Injuries were reported.

The fire was declared under control at 9:26 am.

Initial indications are that the fire was caused by an electrical issue and appears accidental.
