Dauphin RCMP say that on June 16, 2021 they became aware that a man had shot at another male on June 4. During their investigation they located the 22-year-old male victim who suffered a gunshot wound to the hand. He had not reported the shooting to police and did not go to hospital for medical treatment.

Further investigation led officers to identify a suspect in the incident. Jericho Flatfoot, 24, from Mineegoziibe (Pine Creek First Nation) was arrested on June 26 and charged for his alleged involvement with numerous firearms offences, Assault with a Weapon and Aggravated Assault.

Flatfoot was detained in custody.

Police say that the firearm has not been located and the investigation is continuing.
