Dangerous coyote activity leads to closure of Assiniboine Forest

Manitoba Conservation has ordered a large section of the Assiniboine Forest closed due to dangerous coyote activity.

The City of Winnipeg announced the closure on Tuesday, July 14, 2020.

The area of the forest affected is bordered by Corydon Avenue on the north, Grant Avenue on the South, Chalfont to the west and the border between the forest and the Tuxedo Golf Club on the east.

Manitoba Conservation ordered the closure after receiving multiple reports of coyotes exhibiting predatory, stalking behaviour.

The closure remains in effect indefinitely.
