Crown Services Minister Colleen Mayer has released the numbers related to the number of positions cut at three of Manitoba’s crown corporations.
In May of 2016, the government ordered Manitoba Hydro, Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries and Manitoba Public Insurance to cut management positions by 15%.

According to Mayer the reduction was completed by March 2018 and an audit by MNP LLP confims that the crowns are in compliance with the government order. The audit was done to ensure that the reductions to management were permanent and that any position that was eliminated was not filled by contractors or through secondments.
The minister says that the reduction has saved the government $3.8 million. 149 positions were eliminated through the process.
