An allegation of criminal behaviour by an off-duty RCMP officer in northern Manitoba has prompted an investigation by the Independent Investigation Unit (IIU).
The incident is alleged to have occurred on December 26, 2020, and involved the unauthorized use of a cell phone, mischief and criminal harassment by the officer.
RCMP received a complaint on February 1, 2021 and reported it to the IIU on February 10.
The IIU civilian director determined that based on the information they received it is in the public interest to investigate.
