Police thwart crime spree, arrest culprit

Winnipeg Police Major Crimes Unit have busted a 41-year-old male who has been on a crime spree across the city since May 2019.

Police say that Clinton Gary Quesnel was allegedly involved in 32 break-ins to both business and residential properties as well as a number of thefts.

Investigators zeroed in on the suspect near Marion Street and Tache Avenue on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, making the arrest.

They also arrested 23-year-old Shylynn Heather Dawn McKay who was an alleged accomplice for five of the break-ins.

Quesnel is facing charges of:

  • Break & Enter (x32)
  • Mischief Under $5,000/Obstruct in Enjoyment (x5)
  • Theft Under $5,000 (x2)
  • Theft of a Motor Vehicle (x1)

Mckay has been charged with five counts of Break and Enter.

Both suspects were detained in custody.
