Crime spree ends with arrest and charges

A 30-year-old Winnipeg man is fact went charges in connection to a series of break-ins across the city over the past month.

Police say that between April 6 and May 7, 2021, more than a dozen businesses including restaurants, gas bars and convenience stores were targeted by the suspect and about $38,000 in cash and goods were stolen. The suspect also caused nearly $13,000 in damages to the businesses during the break-ins.

On May 7, 2021, Police spotted the suspect in a stolen vehicle near Government Avenue and Gateway Road. He was taken into custody.

Nicolas Walter Combot has been charged for his alleged involvement with sixteen counts of Break and Enter, two counts of Possess Goods Obtained by Crime over $5,000 and two counts of Failing to Comply with Probation.

He was detained in custody.

Police continue to investigate.
