The arrest of a 45-year old male and a 31-year-old female has put a damper on a summer crime spree the suspects were a part of.
It began in April when three men stopped a van being driven by a 60-year-old female and advised her something was dragging g from her vehicle. When she got out to check a male jumped into the van and drove off.
At the end of May, a 57-year-old woman had her wallet stolen from her purse as she loaded groceries into her car. The victim said that while she was in the store parking lot on Lakewood Boulevard a vehicle drove slowly past her with a woman hanging out the passenger side window. The woman reached into the victim’s purse and stole her wallet. The vehicle then fled.
On June 19, 2018, a Dodge Caravan was stolen from the 400 block of Monreith Street followed by the theft of a bicycle a month later from a garage on Popko Crescent.
On July 30, 2018, three vehicles were stolen from a business in the 1500 block of Main Street after the business was broken into and the keys to the vehicles were taken.
One week later on August 8, 2018, a 2002 Chevy Silverado pickup truck was taken from Leila Avenue.
Three days later on August 11, 2018, a second Chevy pickup truck was stolen from Leila Avenue. This time it was a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado.
Licence plates from a Ford F150 pickup were also stolen sometime on the same day.
Police also say that sometime between August 8 and August 11 a 2011 Jayco trailer was taken from a storage compound in the 3000 block of Main Street.
Just after 2:30 pm on Saturday, August 11, 2018, the male and female suspects were driving the 2010 Silverado with the stolen trailer attached when it backed over a motorcycle, just missing the driver, parked in the lane in the 200 block of Royal Avenue. The pickup continued to back up and smashed through a fence before fleeing eastbound on Kingsbury Avenue. The driver and the passenger abandoned the vehicle while it was still moving and took off on foot.
Winnipeg Police seized the truck and trailer and found a number of stolen items from previous thefts inside including the bicycle, the licence plate belonging to the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, The ID from the woman who had her wallet stolen, the driver’s licence belonging to the victim of the vehicle robbery, along with forged cheques.
Shortly after abandoning the pickup and trailer the suspects stole a Volkswagon Jetta from the 500 block of Seven Oaks Avenue.
RCMP located the Jetta on Sunday, August 12, 2018, from the parking lot of a business in Lockport just north of Winnipeg.
On Tuesday, August 14, 2018, just after 7:30 pm the male suspect was driving a stolen Kia Rio with the plates stolen from a Nissan Versa. As the suspect drove the vehicle along the North Perimeter Highway he cut off another vehicle causing a collision and extensive damage. RCMP stopped the suspect vehicle at the Perimeter Highway and Highway 7 and arrested both the male and female accused. They were turned over to Winnipeg Police.

- Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle X2
- Drive Suspended/While Disqualified X2
- Possession of Forged Document with Intent
Kimberley-Anne Struve has been charged for her alleged involvement with:
- Possession of Methamphetamine
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 X10
- Possession of Identity Document X4
- Fail to Exchange Particulars
- Theft Over $5000
- Possession of Credit Card
