Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to a two-storey commercial building fire in the 500 block of Selkirk Avenue on Saturday night, September 23, 2023.

As firefighters arrived on the scene around 7:50 p.m. they found smoke and flames coming from the structure. Crews initially attacked the fire from the outside but soon transitioned to an interior attack. The fire was declared under control at 8:07 p.m..
The building was searched and no one was found inside. No injuries were reported.
Selkirk Avenue was closed in both direction between Andrews Street and McGregor Steet while emergency crews were on scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
