Cranberry Portage man charged after $200k in damage to school

RCMP in Cranberry Portage have arrested and charged a 27-year-old male in connection to a break-in and damage at the local high school on Monday June 29, 2020.

Police say they were called to the building just after 3:30 am and found 105 broken windows and the destruction of 42 computers inside the computer lab.

The cost of the damage is estimated to be approximately $200,000.00.

The suspect, who is from the community, was charged for his alleged involvement with Breaking and Entering, Mischief over $5,000 and Possessing Break-In Instruments.

RCMP continue to investigate.
