Manitoba public health officials report that an additional case of probable COVID-19 has been identified. The case involves a male in his 50s from Winnipeg and is related to recent travel.
Provincial chief public health officer, Dr. Brent Roussin noted that one of the previous reported cases of probable COVID-19 has been ruled out.
The current number of confirmed and probable cases in Manitoba remains at 20.
Public Health is advising Manitobans to cancel any non-essential travel in Canada or internationally. Officials advise that there should be no recreational, tourist or non-essential personal travel.
Roussin said that there is no plan to limit travel within the province at this time.
Anyone who returns from travel, either internationally or within Canada, must self-isolate and self-monitor for 14 days after their return. “I want to make it clear that this is not just a suggestion,” said Roussin
The province is currently evaluating reducing the number of people allowed to gather at the same place. Currently that number is 50.
