COVID-19 Update: 25 additional probable cases identified.

Manitoba’s Chief Provincial Public Health Officer, Dr. Brent Roussin, announced on Saturday March 28, 2020, that 25 additional cases of probable COVID-19 were identified. The total confirmed and probable cases now stands at 64 in the province.

Public health investigators are still trying to determine additional details and confirm the possible exposure of the new cases.

Dr. Roussin also noted that one more person has been admitted to a hospital intensive care unit.

As of Saturday morning there are 4760 cases of COVID-19 in Canada.

Roussin reminded Manitobans that effective 12:01 am on Monday March 30, 2020, public gatherings will be limited to no more than 10 people. This includes places of worship and family events like weddings and funerals.

As part of the new orders retail businesses including grocery stores, shopping centres, pharmacies or gas stations must ensure separation of one to two metres between customers. Public transportation, including Winnipeg Transit, must ensure people on buses or at their facility are able to maintain a separation of one to two metres.
