COVID-19 tickets continue to be issued to scofflaws

Between February 15 and February 21, 2021 enforcement officers issued 155 warnings and 27 tickets to people not following Manitoba’s public health orders.

21people were issued tickets for $1,296 of which 19 went to people attending or hosting gatherings in private residences or outdoors. Five $298 tickets went to individuals who failed to wear a mask indoors and one $5,150 was issued to an individual for $5,150 for violation of the Federal Quarantine Act.

Officials report that one enforcement official in Winnipeg was assaulted while on duty and the incident is currently under investigation.
