Manitoba Public Health announced 35 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, August 9, 2020, as of 9:30 am. The total number of lab-confirmed and probable cases stands at 542.
This is the highest one day increase in confirmed cases in Manitoba since the pandemic began according to provincial data. The next highest one day increase was on April 1st when there were 33 cases identified.

The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 1.45 per cent.
20 of the new cases are in the Prairie Mountain Health region, 10 new cases in the Southern Health region, four new cases in Winnipeg, one new in Interlake-Eastern health region

- One female in her 20s
Prairie Mountain Health Region
- a male under nine
- a female and a male between 10 and 19
- One female and four males in their 20s
- One female and five males in their 30s
- Two Females and Four males in their 40s
Southern Health Region
- One male between 10 and 19
- One male in his 20s
- One female in her 30s
- Three females and one male in their 40s
- One female and one male in their 50s
- One female in her 60s
Winnipeg Health Region
- One male in his 20s
- One male in his 30s
- One female and one male in their 50s

There are currently 182 active cases of COVID-19 in the province with 352 people listed as recovered.
Six people are being treated in hospital of which three are in intensive care.
The total number of deaths in Manitoba related to COVID-19 remains at eight.
756 preliminary laboratory tests were completed on Saturday. According to Manitoba Public Health the total number of completed tests since early February to 100,830.
