Manitoba Public Health announced there were 29 new cases of the virus on Sunday, September 6, 2020. The total number of lab-confirmed cases stands at 1,323.
The five-day test positivity rate in Manitoba is 1.2 per cent
Three of the new cases are in the Prairie Mountain Health region, seven new cases in the Southern Health region, one new case in Interlake-Eastern health region, one in Northern Health region and 17 cases in the Winnipeg Health region.
Seven of the cases appear to be from close contacts and one from recent travel. Public health could not identify a source for four cases.
A previously identified case in the Winnipeg Health region is linked to the assisted living facility next to Donwood Manor personal care home. Donwood has moved to restricted (Orange) risk level under the Pandemic Response System and outbreak protocols have been initiated.
There are 13 people being treated in hospital including two people in intensive care.
There are currently 409 active cases of COVID-19 in the province with 898 people listed as recovered.
The number of deaths related to COVID-19 is 16.
1,256 laboratory tests were completed on Saturday. According to Manitoba Public Health, the total number of completed tests since early February is 145,468.
