COVID-19 cases continue to increase in Manitoba

51 new cases of COVID-19 were identified on Monday and one additional death was reported. Over the weekend there were 108 new cases identified on Saturday, October 16 and 88 cases on Sunday, October 17.

The current COVID-19 test positivity rate is 3.3 per cent.

Of the 51 cases identified in the province today, 36 are people who have not been vaccinated. 15 are people who are fully vaccinated

There are 976 active cases of COVID-19 in the province with 90 people hospitalized. 16 Manitobans are being treated in intensive care units

2,010 lab tests were taken yesterday. That brings the total number of COVID-19 tests completed in the province since February 2020 to 1,054,101.

The total number of people who died from the virus in Manitoba is 1,231.
