Guido Amsel, the man accused of sending bombs through the mail to several Winnipeg businesses last year is still in the process of retaining a new lawyer after he fired his counsel in August.
Amsel appeared in court but the lawyer he appeared with, Sahel Zaman, told court he was in the process of being retained but still had issues he needed to work out. He told the judge he was hesitant to discuss those issues in open court.
The Crown and Zaman expect the trial will be delayed as more time will be required to prepare the case.
Amsel has been accused of sending bombs to three Winnipeg law firms in 2015. One of the bombs exploded and seriously injured lawyer Maria Mitousis.
