No rate increase until 2019
The Manitoba government has put a two-year freeze on increases to service fees and Crown land rental fees for cottages in provincial parks, Sustainable Development Minister Cathy Cox announced today.
Cottage owners who rent land within provincial parks pay an annual fee that covers services like garbage removal and road maintenance. The moratorium means that the rental fees for 2017 and 2018 will be the same as cottage owners paid this year.
“The ability to enjoy our provincial parks is part of the fabric of our province,” Cox said
The province has promised that cottage owners and associations will be consulted and their input will help shape any future changes.
