A 21-year-old inmate of Brandon Correctional Centre is facing charges after he seriously assaulted a correctional officer in the facility on Sunday night, November 10, 2019.
The inmate then went on to trash the sub unit he was in by throwing furniture and food around, His antics caused extensive damage say officials.
The officer received extensive injuries and was taken to hospital.
Brandon Police say that by the time they arrived at the prison corrections officers had the situation contained.
The inmate was arrested by Brandon Police and charged with Aggravated Assault of Peace Officer, and Mischief to Property Over $5000.
