Winnipeg Police have a 31-year-old alleged carjacker in custody after she crashed while trying to evade police.
It all started just after 6:00 pm on Sunday April 12, 2020, when the suspect confronted a woman at the Shell station on Corydon Avenue near Tuxedo Avenue.
Police say the suspect was brandishing a knife. The driver was not hurt and the suspect fled in the victim’s vehicle.
Members of the Tactical Support Team saw the vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and followed.
The suspect fled east and came to a stop near River Avenue and Mayfair Avenue after crashing the vehicle. She jumped out of the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot but was arrested after a short foot chase by officers.
Jennifer Ashley Clark Has been charged for her alleged involvement with Robbery, Wear Disguise with Intent to Commit Offence, Flight While Pursued bt Peace Officer, Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance, Fail to Comply with Conditions of Release Order, Drive While Suspended.
She was detained in custody.
