Officials from Correctional Services Canada (CSC) are investigating after two packages containing contraband were found in the maximum security exercise yard at Stony Mountain Institution on Saturday, September 28, 2019.
According to a statement from Correctional Services Canada the packages contained cell phones, accessories, tobacco, tools and THC concentrates. Investigators say that inside the prison the items found are worth close to $800,000.
“These activities may be related to drug use or trafficking that may threaten the safety and security of visitors, inmates and staff members working at CSC institutions,” CSC said in a statement.
Police have been notified of the incident.
