St. Anne’s Road was closed for several hours early Wednesday morning after a vehicle hit a hydro pole causing a transformer to crash to the ground bringing with it a number of hydro lines.
The collision happened around 1:09 am between Aldgate Road and Warde Avenue.
According to police, an off-duty officer was in the area when the crash occurred and was able to provide emergency first-aid to the driver who was the only person in the car.
Paramedics treated the female driver when they arrived and she was medically cleared at the scene.
Police cordoned off the area to traffic for several hours until Manitoba Hydro crews were able to repair the damage.
Police have not said if the driver is facing any charges related to the collision.
