Just after midnight emergency crews received a report of a car / train crash at a crossing on Panet Road between Nairn Avenue and Mission Street.

The male driver of the car was taken to hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable.

Winnipeg & CN Police had the area closed for several hours after the accident as they investigated.
