The City of Winnipeg, the province and the federal government have announced funding for repairing Winnipeg’s crumbling streets.

Under the deal $105 million will be spent on 150 roadway construction projects across the city. The funding has been earmarked for a specific list of roads, back lanes and sidewalks. (see the list below)

“Winnipeggers have said time and time again that fixing the roads is their number one priority and I’m thrilled we are able to continue our historic investment of $105 million to make that happen,” said Mayor Brian Bowman

With major construction of roadways will come traffic tie-ups and detours. The proposed list of projects includes a number of high traffic roads including several stretches of Pembina Highway, Eastbound Provencher and Ellice Avenue.

The projects are expected to begin in early spring.
