CITY | PAN AM POOL TO OPEN SATURDAY AFTER $9 MILLION UPGRADES

After being closed for a large part of the summer the Pan Am pool is set to reopen on Saturday, October 1, 2016. 

The pool was closed so that crews could upgrade the facility for next years Canada Sumer Games. The $ 9 million renovation included:

  • A new dual bulkhead system (funded jointly by the City of Winnipeg and the Canada Summer Games),
  • Renovations to the dive tower, 
  • Replacement of the original boiler system and electrical upgrades,
  • Front reception area, locker and shower improvements,
  • Fresh paint within the main pool area, and
  • Parking lot improvements.

The Canada Summer Games will also be providing a new timing system, lane markers ropes, four new diving boards and other equipment.
