If you are a past or present member of the Canadian Armed Forces the city wants to give you a free ride.
On Remembrance Day, November 11, 2019, veterans, current serving personnel, including cadets and reservists, and one companion will be allowed to travel on Winnipeg Transit for free.
“Providing free transit to veterans and current members of the Canadian armed forces is a way the city is able to recognize the tremendous commitment they have made and continue to make, to our community and country,” said Mayor Brian Bowman.
To use the free service you need to be in uniform or present your military identification or CF1 card when you get on the bus. If you are bringing a companion identify them to the driver when you board.
