City makes it easier for residents to know about spring cleanup

A new website, interactive map and updates to the Know Your Zone app are all part of helping Winnipeg residents know when crews are scheduled to clean residential streets.

The city announced the new portal ( winnipeg.ca/springcleanup ) on Friday April 17, 2020 just ahead gof the April 20th start of the annual cleanup operation.

The portal will provide residents with information about parking restrictions, safety tips and a searchable map that will provide information on when residential streets are scheduled to be cleaned 24-hours in advance. The map will also make note of when crews have completed the work.

Residents will also be able to use the Know Your Zone app to find out when crews are scheduled to sweep their streets. The app also allows you to enter different addresses and receive a push notification when streets associated to the address are schedule to be cleaned.

The city says that the spring cleanup operation will take 5-6 weeks and will involve the use of more than 300 pieces of equipment.
