The City of Winnipeg has initiated the Extended Snow Route Parking Ban beginning at midnight tonight as the cleanup operation from the snowstorm begins.
The city-wide snow plowing operation will begin at midnight on main routes, bus routes and collector streets.
The Extended Snow Route Parking Ban means that vehicles are prohibited from parking on snow routes between midnight and 7:00 am.
Vehicles parked in violation of the ban could be ticketed and towed. The cost of a ticket is $100 ($75 if paid early).
The extended ban will continue until the snow clearing operation is completed. The city will announce when it is lifted.
