The City of Winnipeg has declared a snow route parking ban effective tonight at midnight.

Vehicles are prohibited from parking on snow routes between midnight and 7:00 am so that plows can safely clear those roadways. This parking ban extends the existing snow route ban by an additional two hours.

The city is also warning those who ignore the ban that it may cost $100 in fines plus towing charges if you park on a snow route.

The ban will remain in place until the city lifts it at the end of snow clearing operations.

Once lifted the regular parking ban hours on snow routes will be reinstated (2:00 am – 7:00 am)
