If you live in Winnipeg then you won’t be surprised to learn that a recent report from the city shows that citizens believe that street repair should be the #1 priority in the upcoming budget.
The city’s 2017 budget comes out next week and as part of the process the city asked Winnipeg residents what they felt should be the highest priority for funding.
Residents were also asked how do they think the city should pay for operations.
According to the survey most Winnipeg residents want the city to find finding from other levels of government.
The consultation process involved face to face community meetings with residents, a telephone survey that reached out to 600 taxpayers and an on-line tool.
According to the report a total of 963 people responded to survey questions across all platforms between October 7 and October 30, 2016.
