Cineplex announced on Monday, March 16, 2020, that they are closing all of their 165 theatres as well as their Rec Room and Playdium locations across Canada in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a letter sent to guests and partners of the entertainment company, President and CEO Ellos Jacob said that even though enhanced cleaning a nd social-distancing policies have been in place “The time has come to do more.”
The facilities will be closed until at least April 2, 2020.
The company says that all bookings including private theatre bookings, individual and group reservations at The Rec Room and Playdium as well as those with advanced tickets to see a movie will be cancelled with a full refund.
