The Winnipeg Police Service was alerted by the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children that between June 13, 2016 and August 11, 2016, local IP addresses were being utilized to upload images and videos of child pornography. This information was forwarded to the Winnipeg Police Service I.C.E. (Internet Child Exploitation) Unit at which time an investigation commenced.
Investigators executed a search warrant on August 24, 2016, resulting in the seizure of numerous electronic devices leading to the arrest of Daniel KAMENICKY, 39 years, from Winnipeg. He was charged with the following offences for his alleged involvement:
- Make Child Pornography
- Possess Child Pornography
- Distribute Child Pornography
- Voyeurism
Kamenicky was detained in custody.
The accused works as a children’s entertainer operating a magic show under the name of ‘Dan the Magic Man.’
