New Zealand Police reported that on September 26, 2017, several images of child sexual abuse were shared online by a male using an IP address that resolved to be in Winnipeg. Investigators from New Zealand contacted Winnipeg Police Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit about their child porn investigation on October 5, 2017.
Officers from ICE began an investigation into the child porn case and obtained a search warrant for a home in East Elmwood. The investigation led them to a man at a home in Central Burrows. He was taken into custody.

Iain Alexander Tod, 25 from Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement with Sexual Assult, Sexual Interference, Possession of Child Pornography, Imports, Distributes, Sells or Possess for the Purpose of Distribution of Sale any Child Pornography, Makes, prints, Publishes, or Possess for the Purpose of Publication any Child Pornography.
Investigators are continuing to investigate
Tod is being held in custody.
