Winnipeg Police have arrested a 56-year-old man in relation to child sexual abuse imagery stemming from an investigation that began in February 2019.

Police say that they received information that child porn was being uploaded to a social media site. The social media provider contacted the U.S. National Center for Missing and Exploited Children who in turn contacted Canada’s National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre and the Winnipeg Police Service.

Investigators identified a residence and executed a search warrant on April 8, 2019, on a suite in the 600 block of Panet Road. Electronic devices were seized and a number of sexual abuse images depicting children were uncovered on them.

Wade Arthur Herbert from Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement with Possession of Child Pornography.

He was detained in custody.
