Members of the Winnipeg Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) and Technological Crime Units have been involved in an investigation regarding child sexual abuse imagery.

As a result of the investigation, police executed a search warrant at a home in  St-Boniface, in which electronic devices were seized.

On July 21, 2016, Steve Suomu, 49-years-old, was arrested for his alleged involvement and has been charged with:

-Possession of Child Pornography,
-Access Child Pornography

Suomo works as an elementary school teacher in south-central Manitoba.

He was detained in custody.
