Just after 3:30 pm on Sunday, June 23, 2018, a 4-year-old little boy was killed when the utility trailer he was riding in rolled back into a ditch.

RCMP say the tractor was being driven by a 63-year-old female but at the time of the accident, the tractor had stopped. As an attempt was made to reposition the trailer and reattach it to the tractor it then rolled into the ditch. It happened at a property about six kilometres north-west of Lorette.

The child was taken to hospital but later died of his injuries.

RCMP and members of the office of the Chief Medical Examiner are continuing to investigate.
