CHARGES LAID IN KILLING OF WINNIPEG BUS DRIVER IRVINE FRASER

 

 

22 year old charged with 2nd degree murder

 

 

 

 

 

Winnipeg police have identified the killer of Winnipeg Transit driver Irvine Fraser.

Brian Kyle Thomas, 22 has been charged with Second Degree Murder, Possession of a Weapon and Fail to Comply with a Probation Order due to his alleged involvement. 

Police say that an altercation occurred in the early morning hours of February 14, 2017 after Fraser told the only occupant on the bus, Thomas to exit as it was the end of the line.

Thomas did not want to leave the bus and after repeated requests he was escorted off the bus by Fraser.

The argument continued once Fraser and Thomas were off the bus and a physical altercation happened. It is at this point that Thomas produced a knife and stabbed Fraser multiple times in the upper body.

Fraser fell to the ground. Thomas left the scene on foot immediately prior to police arriving.

Thomas was attempting to cross the Red River a short distance away when he was taken into custody by police.

Thomas remains in custody.
