RCMP have laid charges in connection to a suspicious vehicle incident on Friday April 10, 2020.
The incident began around 2:10 am on Highway 9 and Grassmere Road when officers patrolling the area spotted the suspicious vehicle.
Officers initiated a traffic stop when a collision occurred. At that point an officer fired their weapon and the suspect vehicle fled. Police pursued and were able to hit the suspect vehicle and disable it.
Two men inside the vehicle took off on foot.
One of the suspects was taken into custody after a search of the area the second man is still at large.
Matthew Alvin Dueck, 36 has been charged for his alleged involvement with Flight from Police, Assault with a Weapon on a Police Officer and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He also had an outstanding warrant of arrest for numerous property related offences.
He was detained in custody.
Police are continuing to investigate.
