Charges laid in Sunday morning shooting

Winnipeg Police have laid charges against the two males involved in the shooting of a male in his 40s early Sunday morning, December 13, 2020.

According to police the shooting took place after the victim and suspects got into a verbal argument near Arlington Street and Notre Dame Avenue.

The victim was found by police lying in the eastbound lane of Notre Dame Avenue around 12:30 am and taken to hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Investigators have confirmed that the victim and suspects were unknown to each other prior to the shooting.

Police took both suspects into custody shortly after the shooting.

A 20-year-old male has been charged with 11 firearm and assault related offences for his alleged involvement.

Police have also charged a 15-year-old male with three firearm and assault related offences due to his alleged involvement in the incident.

Both suspects remain in custody.
