An 89-year-old male is facing charges after a lengthy investigation into July 2019 fatal collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Sargent Avenue.
On July 31, 2019, a female in her 20s was crossing Sargent Avenue when she was hit by a westbound vehicle. The pedestrian suffered critical injuries and died in hospital one week later.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested by police at the scene but charges were not laid until May 4, 2020, following the outcome of the investigation.
Police have not released the name of the driver however he has been charged for his alleged involvement with Drive Carelessly Cause Death and Disobey Traffic Control Device.
