Poilce​ lay charges in Pembina Highway collision

The 18-year-old driver of the car involved in a single vehicle collision on Pembina Highway at Ducharme Avenue on December 7, 2018 has been charged with Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle Cause Bodily Harm (x2).

Five people, including the driver, were injured during the collision and taken to hospital. One of the victims, a 17-year-old male was critically injured and required a lengthy stay and extended treatment for his injuries.

Police have determined that the vehicle was travelling well in excess of 100 km/h. The speed limit on that section of Pembina varies between 50-60 km/h depending on location.

On June 2, 2019 the driver of the car turned himself in at the Winnipeg Police Service headquarters. He was released on a promise to appear in court.

The investigation continues say police.
