RCMP have laid charges against the four men involved in a break and enter near Onanole, Manitoba that ended with the shooting of an RCMP officer.
The shooting happened on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, after two officers responded to the incident. As the officers exited their vehicle shots were fired from inside the home hitting and seriously wounding one of the RCMP members.
According to RCMP the officer who was shot, Cpl. Kingdon is doing well but he remains in hospital recovering from his injuries.
Twenty-one charges have been laid against the four suspects and investigators say it is possible that additional charges could be added.
Therae Racette-Beaulieu, 18, from Sandy Bay First Nation has been charged for his alleged involvement with:
- Attempted murder with firearm x2
- Breaking and entering x2
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
- Weapons possession contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization
- Possession of firearm/weapon/device/ammunition in motor vehicle
Tommy Edward Beaulieu, 21, from Portage la Prairie has been charged for his alleged involvement with:
- Theft of vehicle
- Breaking and entering x2
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
- Weapons possession contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization
- Fail to comply with a probation order
Shane Donovan Beaulieu, 30, from Portage la Prairie has been charged for his alleged involvement with:
- Breaking and entering x2
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
- Weapons possession contrary to order and fail to surrender authorization
Delaney Marcus Houle, 23, from Portage la Prairie has been charged for his alleged involvement with:
- Breaking and entering x2
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
- Possession of firearm/weapon/device/ammunition in motor vehicle
RCMP Major Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate.
