Cat and dog die in Pritchard Avenue fire

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service were called to the scene of a blaze in the 600 block of Pritchard Avenue at 7:15 pm on Saturday, May 27, 2023.

When emergency crews arrived on the scene they found smoke and flames coming from the two-storey home. Firefighters launched an internal attack and declared the fire under control at 8:10 pm.

No injuries were reported however a cat and dog were found deceased inside the home.

The City’s Emergency Social Services Team were called to the scene to help five displaced residents find a temporary place to stay.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
