Manitoba Public Health announced today that there are 130 new cases of COVID-19 identified in the province and two more people have died.
Those deaths include:
- a female in her 70s from the Northern health region, linked to the outbreak at Thompson General Hospital MSP ward;
- a female in her 80s from the Prairie Mountain Health region, linked to the outbreak at Fairview Personal Care Home.
The five-day test positivity rate is 12.6 per cent provincially and 11.9 per cent in Winnipeg.
The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba is 24,513.
Today’s cases are from the following health regions:
- 11 cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region
- 11 cases in the Northern health region
- eight cases in Prairie Mountain health region
- eight cases in the Southern health region
- 92 cases in the Winnipeg health region
There are currently 4,444 active cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba with 19,408 people who have been listed as recovered.
337 are being treated in the hospital of which 248 are considered infectious. 36 people with the virus are in Intensive Care Units with 32 of them still considered infectious.
661 Manitobans have died since COVID-19 first arrived in the province.
1,193 tests were completed yesterday. Since the virus first arrived in February 2020, there have been 419,542 tests completed.
An outbreak has been declared at the Benito Health Centre in Benito.
