A 41-year-old male and a 31-year-old female are facing a number of carjacking and weapon-related charges after they attempted to steal a vehicle on St. Mary’s Road early Saturday morning.
Police say that just after midnight on December 16, 2017, the pair of suspects confronted two people who were sitting in a parked vehicle. The victims were waiting for the owner of the vehicle who was inside a nearby restaurant.
The suspects pulled out weapons and demanded that the pair exit the vehicle.

The suspects then got into the vehicle. At this point, the owner of the vehicle had been alerted about the attempted theft and tried to get in the front passenger door. One of the suspects put the vehicle in reverse ccausingthe owner to have to jump out of the way.
The vehicle sped off.
Not too long afterwards police located the stolen vehicle in the 100 block of Enfield Crescent.
The K-9 unit tracked the male suspect to a recycling bin behind an apartment building nearby then continued to track the female suspect to the 100 block of Kitson Street where she was taken into custody.
